ABOUT
OUR CLINIC
Cahir Vet Clinic was set up in 1992 by the Veterinary Surgeon Folke Rohrssen, with the intention of delivering a diversified and quality service in the area, as a mixed practice dealing with dogs, cats, and predominantly dairy cows clients.

We have since grown to work from 2 sites (1 small animal hospital and 1 mixed practice) with 6 vets and 12 staff in total. Among these, 3 vets work predominantly with small animals and 3 with farm animals.

The area serviced includes South Tipperary, Waterford, Cork, and some larger clients in surrounding counties, too.

The average dairy herd size has exceeded 100 cows and much of the work focuses on herd health, fertility, and preventative vaccination programs. We perform regular pre- and post service ultrasound scanning and advise on synchronization programs. Out of hours, work is now the exception but we run a 1 in3 rota.
The clinics are equipped with blood laboratory machines for hematology, biochemistry. We do in-house microscopy and the X-ray system is digital. We have available 4 US scanners (2 SA, 2LA).
Some of the support staff are working in the practice for over 20 years and are familiar with all client's issues and very willing to help.
